ARCHITECTURAL COMPETITION EPK - DRAVA RIVER 2012
The Municipality of Maribor, together with the Union of Architects of Maribor and under supervision of UIA and ZAPS (Slovenian Chamber for Architecture and Spatial Planning), calls for :
The international, public, anonymous, single-stage architectural ideas competition for the arrangement of the river Drava area in the central part of the city. The aim of the competition is to acquire the most suitable proposal/outline scheme for the central stage of the European Capital Of Culture - Drava river 2012, Maribor and for urban regeneration of the city in the next twenty years.
The design solution is divided in three competition areas (GROUPS):
- The embankment of river Drava between the Water tower and the Judgment tower on the left bank, and the natural Embankment of the river in the area between the Studenška brv (footbridge) and the railway bridge on the right bank of the river;
- The most suitable design project solution of a footbridge across the river Drava;
- The most suitable design project solution for the new building of the Maribor Art Gallery.

The language to be used in Competition entries is English language.
REGISTRATION
Registration takes place exclusively on-line at the competition web site: www.mb-arhitekti.si
The registration fee, non refundable, is 150 EUR.
PRIZES
GROUP 1: Competition prize fund / 53,000.00 EUR, as follows:
1st prize 30,000.00 EUR, 2nd prize 15,000.00 EUR, 3rd prize 8,000.00 EUR
GROUP 2: Competition prize fund / 53,000.00 EUR, as follows:
1st prize 30,000.00 EUR, 2nd prize 15,000.00 EUR, 3rd prize 8,000.00 EUR
GROUP 3: Competition prize fund / 70,000.00 EUR, as follows:
1st prize 40,000.00 EUR, 2nd prize 20,000.00 EUR, 3rd prize 10,000.00 EUR
Total prize fund: 176,000.00 EUR. All amounts stated are gross amounts.
 Competition terms
SUPPLEMENT OF THE COMPETITION DOCUMENTATION:
Following some inconsequence and unadjustment and after a complaint of one of the participant of the International Architectural Competition ECC / EUROPEAN CULTURAL CAPITAL – RIVER DRAVA 2012, the State revision Commission for the revision of the public procurement proceedings, declared following decisions:
1. - in the competition area 2, to annul the competition documentation and the public announcement on the Slovenian public procurement web-site, which restricts the participation rights,
2. - to annul the competition documentation in the part which forbids the use of Slovenian language,
3. - in the competition area 2, to annul the competition documentation in the part of the Jury members;
The Association of Architects of Maribor, as the promoter of the competition for the Municipality of Maribor, followed the decisions of the State revision Commission for the revision of the public procurement proceedings and the annulment of those mentioned parts. We adjusted the competition materials with the demands as follows:
Ad.1. - in the competition Area 2 the competition is also open for other professions;
Ad.2. - the competition entries can also be sent in the Slovenian language;
Ad.3. - in the competition Area 2 the competition Jury is enlarged with civil engineers;
